Training to be Accounting Technician, applying for jobs where it's possible to train?

Being someone wanting to train to be an Accounting Technician, is it worth it to send speculative applications to accountancy firms at all, outlining my position and asking if they would have any sort of positions available where you could gain experience while training at the same time? The thought crossed my mind this evening, thought I would ask to see what people think.

It certainly wouldn't do any harm, although you may have to keep trying for quite a while. If you are determined (and lucky!) it could get you the job you are wanting.0
