VAT registration frustrations

I am so fed up.

I registered a client for VAT online, simple.

They are to go on FRS and so I did exactly the same as I have always done I sent the VAT 600FRS with a covering letter asking for entry onto the scheme from registration and to confirm back to me, I quoted my customers full name, address and the internet acknowledgement number and a copy 64-8.

This has always worked in the past and I was advised to do this, this way by the VAT office, but oh no not this time.

Now I discover that the VAT 600FRS has been sent back directly to my client with a covering letter asking them to resubmit the form once the VAT number is known.

Makes me look like a B***dy idiot to my client

    At least they had the decency to send a reply to someone.

    I do what you did AND submit a further VAT600FRS when I know the VAT number and we still hear nothing back!
