shares- bonus issue

1,000 shares at 4.50 each
bonus issue of 1 for 4,
so the bonus issue is 2,000/4=500? or 1,000/4= 250?

If the shareholder owns all 2000 shares then the bonus issue should be on the whole amount. 2000/4=500 shares.
