Hi,

I desperately need to learn these blooming IAS's and IFRS's and finding them a nightmare, does anyone have an easy to understand list with definitions of them that might help me?

Fingers crossed

Helen

My book breaks every standard down into the 'only need to know bits', which might help.

    Kind regards

    Hi Steve,

I've never actually spoken to you before on here but I do read your posts and it seems like you're a bit of a guru! I was going to buy your book (above) for DFS but was wondering if you could tell me a little bit more about it.. It also says it will take 11-14 days to dispatch which means it probs wont come until the beginning of August.. do you think this would be enough time?!

    Thanks!!!

    Hi,

Essentially my book is a summary of the technical requirements of IFRS and IAS. you might have heard tutors/others talk about 'flash cards' to aid studying accounting standards - this book acts as those 'flash cards'.

I think you could use it as final revision.

    Kind regards
    Steve

Steve's book is really good. I got mine last week and am reading through the IFRS's and IAC's and finally taking the info in!

Remember that not all of them are assessable however, so you don't need to learn them all!

Does anyone know what ones are assessable and which ones are not?

    Thanks

On the site of the AAT in the DFS bit there is a file called Unit 11 DFS Guidance notes revised February 2009. That has all the assessable standards in it and what you need to learn about them!

    The link is here:
    https://www.aat.org.uk/myaat/unit/item13755/

If you can't get it via that way, try to log in, go to the Study zone, select unit 11 and scroll down to the bottom. There is a link called Unit 11- DFS Guidance which is the link to this file.

    Hope that helps,

    Cheers,
