What is everyone doing after AAT?
If you are all lucky enough to pass your June 2010 exams, are you going on to ACCA, CIMA, ATT .....

i am hopefully going onto CIMA, i have the 2 exams in june and 3 sims to sit (2 from intermediate).
once i pass all of those, i was going to rest a while, but i am quite excited to do CIMA, so getting the AAT out of the way is just another step closer

After AAT... Month or two break then straight onto CIMA !
CIMA will definately help my promotion chances...
Still sticking by my studying philosophy of revising in the week and living at the weekend!0 -
I won't finish until at least December but I don't have a clue what to do next. I'd like to do ACCA but I work in events which I love. What are the options for those who don't want to work in accounts but still want to learn?
My reason for this is that my current job pays quite well but I don't want to do it forever. I need to be prepared with as many strings to my bow for the future.0 -
ATT for me - plan to become MIP so I think additional tax training is probably the best option.FMAAT - AAT Licensed Member in Practice - Pewsey, Wiltshire0

I love to continue to study ACCA but I have to find a real job first for now working 3 times a week as a volunteer it is very stressful though, to be honest the organisation I've work is not that organise but I don't have a choice just keep on going to get some experience.
But I would prefer to do further on taxation but I don't know yet can't decide until I've got a job, for now I paid a lot for my tuition but no income coming yet, hoping that might oneday all been paid off.0 -
ACCA for me I think... self study... I don't think I know what I have let myself in for if I do decide that. Definately a few months break for me though anyway. Just got my two tax exams in June then got to do the project thing, hoping that wont take me long, then maybe start ACCA next year...we will see!0

I passed AAT in feb this year and started ACCA in march.
I have my first exams (F5 &F7) next month and i go to college part time to study.
Personally the step-up from aat to acca is MASSIVE!
So much harder and so many more things and formulae to get your head around.
Just my personal opinion though0 -

I'm the same as you SLM, two tax ones in June then the project and hopefully ACCA next year.
I'm doing distance learning, full time job and family so i guess i'll be in the same boat as you!
Let's hope it;s a floating one and not a sinking boat!! lol

I did AAT distance learning but I am not going to go through a learning provider for ACCA, think I am just going to buy the books and get on with it myself (only as it then works out about half the price). But yep full time job, also have a part time job too! Think I might be taking on too much!!!!!0 -
For what its worth, I completed AAT studies last August and became a full member. Hasn't lead me towards deciding to study further with ACCA or CIMA but has opened doors for me.
Got a job in a management accounts office, became a branch committee member (now deputy chair) and really enjoying it, now applying for tutor positions ...
If you want further study then brilliant - I guess it is what you are happiest doing and knowing where it takes you ...
Good luck with further studies ... I might join you at some point ... only time will tell !0
