Investing in Land

Currently working though unit 15, and have came across a question asking the advantages and disadvatges of investing in a piece of land but can find very little information about this, can anyone help?

Also apart from stocks what would be another feasable investment?

Would land be easily turned into cash?

So from a liquidity point of view is land a good place to invest funds for the short-term?
