can some one plz tell me how they calculated the dividends in section 1 P&L section.... thanks

Ah I sat this one last night.

As the nominal value of the shares is 25p (ie 1/4 of £1) the share capital held is £10mil so you need to divide £10mil by .25p to equal the amount of shareholders who will receive the dividend 40mil.

Then x the 40mil by the dividend proposed 4p and 6p looking at the question.

40mil x4p = £1,600mil
40mil x6p = £2,400mil
Total P&L £4,000mil
