hi on 1.2 b where has their net current assets figure come from?

    on that one again but working out the goodwill. was the cost of acq ยฃ8m?

    the shares were ยฃ1 each and they acquired 8,000,000 so yes

    ok one more thing. the group retained earnings. how does that work? i cant get that figure

    its the 1590 in the answer i can't work out where that came from. on the post acq, i don't work it out that way so its hard to see where im going wrong

    Havent got the paper infront of me but usually you do retained earnings of the subsidary, minus pre acquisition which is on a bulletpoint, gives you the post acquisition. Add this to retained earnings of parent and take away the goodwill impairment value, gives you total retained earnings figure.

    ok, to get the retained earnings figure, take the amount they give you on the bullet points 9750 and take this away from the retained earning on the sofp 11340, this gives you 1590 then do the % from this or 2 thirds in this case - gives you 1060.
