Is it reasonable to put IS and SoFP alongside the journals?

I thought you had to, as it indicates that you know where the debits and credits go. Besides - they won't mark you down for including them.0

Can we put our workings in the middle, ie for SOFP would put
Trade and other receivables 6,690 +32 +3564 10,286
Obviously more of a space between the 3564 and 10,286 but it's not coming out right on here!!??
This is how I've been doing it when practising, so they can see where I got all figures from.0 -

i have either been putting them next to the wording, or use the huge space below as long as i am showing what i am working out0 -

We have been told that you can't put them in the SOFP, you must make a small annotation ie W1 and then list the workings below with the corresponding annotation.
They must follow the same format as actual published accounts although we do not have to make the full notes.0 -
Ok, better get into the hang of that!!
thanks0 -
will be doing them at the bottom or a spare sheet tomorrow then lol0

Our tutor got it directly from the examiner so we have been practicing it like that.
It goes
Sales w1 2,565,000
and then at the bottom
w1
Sales 2,656,050
- returns inwards 50
2,656,000
and so on.
It needs to be done like that throughout the whole paper, so for consolidated accounts too.0 -
I havent been told any of that. On my assignments I sent to my tutor I put my workings alongside each item (Trade Receivables etc) and he said this was an acceptable method.
As long as the marker can understand your workings I wouldnt think it would matter where you put them.0 -

We were told specifically not to do this after our tutor had her annual meeting with the AAT examiners. I do study at a college though so get weekly contact with my tutor.0 -
I also attend college on a weekly basis and my tutor said it was ok to put workings on the face of the financial statement aslong as they were small workings e.g turnover/revenue.
Anything bigger than 2/3 numbers needs a working.
It also says here that you can show simple workings:
