after the extremely inappropriate video posted below surely the AAT should ban non students/members from posting videos/anything unless its been approved,
I am sorry if this seems unfair but seriously this video will offend many people

It's not actually a video just an image with a link presumably to some porno site. It's undoubtedly offensive but fortunately, this sort of post is very rare round here, I think it's only the second example I've seen in five years.
Moderating non-members' posts would effectively stop those who are not currently members (like me) from participating at all - this seems like a draconian move to stop what is in reality a minor issue. A better solution, and one that I've suggested before, is that all new posters are moderated for (say) their first five posts which should be enough to prove they're genuine and not spammers.0 -
i believe one of the moderators should have taking it out already
i saw it i think too days ago0 -
It's well needed to relive the exam stress IMO

I'd like to see the moderators come down heavier on people that make discriminatory, or even borderline discriminatory remarks. I saw someone on a thread describing a poem as being 'too gay', and saying that Scotland doesn't have women, 'only over-effeminate kilt-wearing men'. I'm sure the poster, who I won't name, thinks they're very amusing, but this kind of bigoted humour should be confined to the playground in my opinion, and certainly has no place on a public accounting forum.0

Right let me know who this scumbag is I will show him what Scottish Women can do!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
It was probably me Jewels seeing as one of my favourite stalkers is back and trawling through old threads, looking for bullets.
Fortunately, most people know my sense of humour on here and can (usually) see exactly how I intend things but there's no accounting for cretins who deliberately choose to see the worst in everything.0 -
What a breathtakingly audacious defence of two derogatory remarks that impinge upon the AAT's forum guidelines and have the potential to cause offense to millions of people concerning their nationality/ sexuality. 'Sense of humour'. FFS.0

Rowan, I thought you were a student, notoriously known for their somewhat liberal beliefs and wild antics? This forum read by millions of people, huh? Crikey, I'd best stop now before I get The Guardian or Mail on my case and get despatched to Guantanamo Bay.
BTW, the people who my comments were directed at weren't offended - just ask 'Jock' and Paul 24 - who took/take them in the way they were/are intended. Lightheartedly.
Seriously get over yourself, you'll have another breakdown, lad. Or simply **** off - either way I don't care what you do.0 -
Yes, you're posting on the world wide web, which is accessible to millions of people and insults on the basis of innate characteristics have the capacity to offend millions of people.
'Another breakdown'? 'Students are supposed to be liberal'? Your comments are justified on the basis that two people weren't offended by them? Scraping the barrel a bit I think.0 -
Could I just say to Blobby that, unknown to you, you have helped me a lot this year. You always help when people ask, and are always friendly.
I have been on here for 2 years (old account got locked out accidently, but I have done 2 yrs (was katie2008), and have never come across a nasty remark. Funny certainly, but not offensive!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK BLOBBY.0 -
Cheers Katie, nice to see I'm appreciated most of the time and people take my tongue in cheek comments the way they're often meant to be read.
Rowan - cheers for sorting out the nature of the internet for me, I've been struggling for years and needed a bright kid just like yourself to enlighten me. And what were you studying for? A life with no fun?
As for your point, well my front door is theoretically accessible to the whole world but that doesn't mean everyone's gonna come or be welcomed through it does it? You're welcome for Christmas Day though, just make sure you drink something caffeine free (for your ADHD) and your mum picks you up at six after the Bond movie.0 -

Sure. Just like I need a man of intellect such as yourself to teach me that millions of people aren't going to access this forum. Hey, if you say things that demonstrate miscomprehension of basic things, you might receive a condescending explanation. And what were you studying for? A life with no fun?
Ah, here we go again. Another futile attempt at character assassination that attempts to use my personal life as a basis for demeaning perfectly valid statements. This is not even worth answering, as it is completely irrelevant. I can assure you that my idea of fun does not involve making comments about things being 'too gay', as if the word 'gay' has negative connotations. In the 21st century it shouldn't, and it definitely shouldn't on a public forum.
Maybe you can explain to us. How can something be 'too gay'?As for your point, well my front door is theoretically accessible to the whole world but that doesn't mean everyone's gonna come or be welcomed through it does it?
Oh dear. You actually failed to comprehend the simple concept didn't you? I was hoping it was just a desperate attempt to divert attention away from the mess your comments might land you in.
I will explain for you. The unlikelihood of millions of people visiting this forum is irrelevant. My reference to 'millions of people' was intended to highlight the percentage of people that are likely to be offended by the remarks you made. Then again, I suppose, the percentage of people is less important than the fact you used innate characteristics as the basis for your insults. I suppose it is no consolation to the victim of a comment if he/she is the only person with the attribute targeted.
Another way of viewing this is that it would be nice if this forum could treble its activity. Your comments, which are potentially offensive to a large minority, are detrimental to the achievement of this. You're welcome for Christmas Day though, just make sure you drink something caffeine free (for your ADHD) and your mum picks you up at six after the Bond movie.
Ah yes, because I'm so immature. Rather rich coming from someone that uses bigoted playground humour.0 -

Clearly you don't have much exposure to the other kids at the naughty children home Rowchard as my kids - I have five - call me 'gay' all the time. In the 21st century, amongst youngsters, it's the affectionate equivalent of being called 'daft'.
By the way, I Googled your name and found your Dating Direct picture:
Had much success with the ladies yet or do you bore the living shite out of them too?0 -
Hmmm, I think I need to start incorporating humour and personality into my logic before the AAT Posse start thinking I'm a loser.
What I tend to find with people that consume themselves in portraying a certain online self-persona, and spout inane insults about others being less fun, less attractive to the oppposite sex, diagnosed with ADHD, not fun, or whatever random cr*p, is that they tend to be far less impressive offline and are over-compensating for a void in their lives.
What are you going to do now Blobby? Go to your chat thread and brag to your e-buddies that you've slayed the 'troll', or tell them how you're a 'big lad' and you would 'smash (my) fu***** teeth in'? Would be a bold step for you, but you could even substitute that cartoon Facebook picture you hide behind for an actual picture of yourself, or would that involve venturing too far outside of your internet bubble?0 -
This is boring now.0

Before I cease this delightful conversation we've been enjoying Rowan as we truly could go on all week, I'll wish you good luck and warmest regards for your future career and well being and say to you what I say to all 3rd class maths and statistics graduates.

Heh heh heh. I was gonna come and see you in August, Paul (visiting my sister in Sandicare) but I can see your time would be better taken up with those English grammar and spelling classes I suggest you start attending.0

Coming from a bloke who starts a sentence with 'heh heh heh'....0 -
The only sentence I ever had was the 18 year stretch I served by unluckily being born up north where you are now. Fortunately, I managed to escape to the more civilised society where I am now i.e. London and below.
Apologies if you don't know what I mean though, mate. I'm sure one day northerners will invent horses that can travel further south than Luton.0 -

Write something a little edgy there did you and the netwatch software on your access grant laptop audibly alerted your carers?0

Yeah, I realise you're very conceited. Well done Blobby. I'm sure you've scored some more points there and impressed your e-buddies. That will do an ego merchant like you no harm. I had a plan to get a place on an MSc in Statistics through a 1-year distance learning course in statistics which I'm starting in September through Sheffield University, but f*ck that, I'm going to take the Blobby fast-track route to the big time. I'm going to fund an NVQ Level 2 through delivering pizzas/ yard labouring and then become an assistant accountant by the age of 40. I've got 16 years to do it. COME ON!0 -
Nice one Rowan, I actually laughed out loud at that one. At last some real spirit from you and I see you've taken your own comments on board by injecting that previously missing humourous but self deprecating spite with a little forum research and have finally managed to appeal to me.
Rant started a little ropey as always but ended with a valiant sprint: 4.5/5.0 -
