EXACTLY the same as me. I passed the one I 'knew' Id failed, and failed the one I 'knew' Id passed!

What papers did you sit? I did P2 (Pass) and E2

P1 and E1, odly enough ran out of time on p1 so was thinking a fail... but the horrible Q4 on E1 must have dropped me loads of marks...

Same for me, ive passed 1 and failed 1. Passed F1 & Failed P1.

I knew i failed P1 as soon as i left the exam and its mainle due to that detailed Investment appraisal question in section C!

Oh well im gonna sit E1 & Re-sit P1 in November and get them done!

    Hey guys,

I work along side a finance analyst who has just quit CIMA after his first year! He said that it was very time consuming and didnt give him any life at all! (His single with no kids and lives in his flat alone.lol) Once ive finished AAT my boss as said that she is trying to get me funding for CIMA.

What are your recommendations regarding the course ?
    Enjoyable ?
Obviously a lot of work...what would you class an average studying per week ?

    CIMA at Chichester College

Well done to all of you who passed. Now is the time to celebrate your success.
What are your recommendations regarding the course ?

I think your colleague who said that essentially everything else in his life had to go on hold while he studied had it about right.

We start P1 on Thursday 26 August 6 to 9pm every week for 10 weeks, then add a two-day revision course (dates tbc but probably) Fri 3 and Sat 4 Nov

We start F1 on Friday 27 August 2 to 5pm every week for 10 weeks, then add a two-day revision course (dates tbc but probably) Fri 10 and Sat 11 Nov

I know people have taken 3 exams together, but I don't recommend it.

I consider it tough. I work hard and so do our students. There are 3 hours per week in class per subject, there is reading for homework and exercises and I would expect our students allocate 3-4 hours per subject for that. So if you have 2 subjects on your plate then there is a commitment to 12+hours before you think about travel to college. This is on top of a responsible job that is demanding and tiring, and a busy home life.
It doesn't leave time to socialise except on rare occassions.

BUT there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
You hand over the best part of three months of life to studying CIMA and when the exam has been taken the hell stops. You can live again. You have 5 weeks to live life to the full prior to Christmas, and another 5 after Christmas.
Then it is back to the grindstone at the end of January (until the May exams) And a summer off!

I think your colleague who said that essentially everything else in his life had to go on hold while he studied had it about right.

I usually put the month before the exam on hold, other than that I carry on with life as normal. So not found it a massive inconvenience. I really believe a lot of it is down to laziness, and not being prepared to stay in and work hard....

But, well done, be happy for every pass :)

I'm waiting for my first CIMA books to arrive to do the first two exams in May P1 and E1.

After reading these posts I'm feeling a bit glum!! I don't want it to take up all of my free time!! I'm single with no dependants though, so am hoping I'll still be able to fit a bit of a social life in!!!

Sandy, do you do any revision days for these for those who aren't your students, like you did for AAT?

My May 2011 exam revision days are already looking very busy.

I tend to do 2-day revision courses for CIMA and have the following already on my schedule
    1. Friday 6th Saturday 7th May P2
    2. Friday 13th Saturday 14th May F1

I am also offering revision for any students preparing for the P1 re-sit on March 1st
    1. Saturday 12th February
    2. Saturday 19th February

    And a 5 week F1 course
    1. Saturday 12th March
    2. Saturday 19th March
    3. Saturday 26th March
    4. Saturday 2nd April
    5. Saturday 9th April

If there was sufficient interest I could run a P1 revision weekend on 16 17 April

As with all of my classes, I may miss a reply on this thread. Please email me (address below) if you would like to attend or would like me to run a course on a weekend that has not been booked yet.
