How did everyone do?? I cant believe i passed both sections, i was certain i failed section 2 on the DNP paper but hey will stick that result on my CV :-)0

I passed too, I was so shocked to be honest. Do you know if there is any way that you can see what you got wrong or your percentage??
Also as the AAT are changing to QCF standards I hear that they are no longer doing payroll, is this true?

congratulations Beavis x0

Yeah i heard they are no longer continuing with the manual payroll courses which is a bugger really! but still, am sure companies prefer employees to have knowledge of manual payroll than computerised so that they know the basics to check the computers calculations.
Id also like to check my paper to see which bits i did get right or wrong...0 -
Contratulations to all of you and anyone else who passed in June, well done.
At the same time, commisserations to all those who didn't quite make it this time, best of luck on your next attempt, and you should make another attempt, it's in oyur interest and it's worth it.
As far as the future of AAT is concerned I have to say it is almost impossible to find out what is happening, if any of you can get anything then please post it here, I am sure we'd all like to find out.
My understanding is there are three more sittings but don't forget the AAT is not the only place to study, try the IAB, Payroll Alliance, IPP and Learn, they all do payroll studies and some go as far as a masters degree, if you are that keen! What I do agree with is the comment about knowing payroll. There is a big difference between payroll people who can use a system and payroll people who can actually do the work, I know which type I want on my team!
Have a look at the reports and the answer paper and I am sure you will work out where you went wrong. Any questions you have, don't hesitate to post them here, I am happy to help if I can.

well, yes, we can check the answers, only in some of the cases I can't even remember my answers, especially when it involved a lot of numbers, like section 1, second tasks. (the payroll gross).
secondly, I checked the answers, and I realized that at the second person's payslip, they did not take off the voluntary deduction that she gave to a dog charity. In the scenario it said that all of the donations went to approved agencies, but it was not quite clear whether this one off dog association was a charity giving or not. I have passed, but I would like to know the percentage.0 -
I had a look at that one and I agree with the answer, the charitable giving rules are very specific in that relief is only allowed if the donation goes to an agency. This one clearly was designed to go straight to the local charity so would not qualify.
It was obviously set to test your concentration but by my reading probably had little effect on overall performance.
I am in two minds about disclosure of results. In the past I have always been a "have I passed" man and not been too concerned about just how much I passed by. My concern is where I have failed something and it is good to know if it was by a lot or marginal because that determines how I approach the resit, or if I even bother with it.
My understanding here is that the AAT is not required to disclose and therefore does not do so and I am not sure I can argue with that. The whole thing changes with computer based assessment though.

I don't think it was clear at all...I have passed, but if I have a situation like that at level 3, I will put a remark next to the task,, saying it is not clear...or maybe I won't be able to, if I do it on the computer...
also, in task 2 section 1, it did not say whether it was a small company or not. I did complain to my tutor, and she brought it up, and was told, that they will accept both versions.0
