Ok, I know I'll probably sound like a dunce now but this is the first forum I've ever used/visited (although am enjoying myself immensely on it!!) so I'm not really up to speed with the terminology. Bear in mind that the first time I saw lol on a text I honestly thought it meant lots of love - which was disconcerting to say the least considering who the text was from!!

I've seen OP mentioned a few times and wondered what it stood for?

    It means Original Post.

    If a thread goes completely off track, you'll often then see someone write 'back to the OP'.....

    Ah, that makes sense! I kept thinking something to do with 'operating' also PGM - suppose can't think outside of the financial terminology!

    I just use too many forums!!

    I guess it is Operating Profit if it is a post about finance stuff but if general chit chat it is Original Post/Original Poster (as far as I am aware!!
