Starting up as sole trader any ideas on a name????

Hi,

I became a full member of AAT last week and have 3 clients lined up allready.
I am in the process of getting my MIP licence and PII but i cant think of a name for the business??

Please if anyone can think of something querky i would really appreciate it!

I am in the throw of doing the same thing myself.

I went along the lines of first letters of mine, wifes & daughters name & came up with CAE Accounting Services. - Not very exciting but sounds ok.

Emma Richards - you could reverse Richards and Emma and go for RIMA Accounting Services or something along those lines. (MA part is the end of Emma !!)

I am not very creative, so I apologise now if that sounds boring !!!

To be honest, i'd go with Richards Accountants or Emma Richards Accountancy Services or something like that!!! Have you never wanted your name to be well known??? I'd have my name if I set up on my own :-)

You could put your geographical location in the name, like my business is called South West Payroll Services, that way you stand a good chance of coming up on internet searches!

HA HA i have just seen all your posts ! they are great thankyou,

have gone with RISE accountancy solutions.

Richard (my dad and my partner) Isabelle (my daughter) Stella ( my mother) Emma (myself) :-)

I charge at least £12.00 per hour and have charged £200 for self assesment and online submission for self employed clients this month.

I had a look around and it seems to be a fair price.

i would go for a name that is short and catchy so everyone can remember and then add the Accountancy Services provided by Emma Richards as a description of the business

A.S.E.R - Accountancy Services by Emma Richards and draw a logo with the ASER letters at the bottom so everybody at the end just need the picture and knows it is your business?

My husbands surname is Maher and he is a gardener so i created his business name as Mahers Gardening Services and his logo is a clover leaf
