eFinancialCareers launches second successive Investment Challenge, sponsored by Credit Suisse

A fresh eFinancialCareers Investment Challenge launches today (1 October 2010). Credit Suisse is sponsoring this competition again after a successful Challenge this July.

More than 1700 students across Europe participated in the eFinancialCareers Investment Challenge in July, with Credit Suisse offering interviews to the most talented share-pickers, for Spring Week and Summer internships in 2011. From today, students around Europe get another chance to launch a career in high finance, by participating in the longest and potentially most rewarding Challenge yet.

The Challenge is open to students from any UK or continental European university or business school, who must compete against one another by trading European and North American equities using a £10 million fantasy fund over the course of two months. Bachelors and Masters students can register online at www.efinancialcareers.com/cschallenge. The Game will run from 1 October until 30 November, with the chance to register closing on 5 November.

Five prizes are up for grabs in two separate categories: students graduating in 2012 and those graduating in 2013. In both categories, top prize is an iPad, with the runner-up prizes consisting of an iPhone 4, an iPhone 3GS, a Samsung Netbook and a £150 worth Amazon voucher.

The Challenge also offers career-enhancing interviews to the leading students. The top three players in each year group will have the opportunity to be interviewed for the Credit Suisse Spring Program for those graduating in 2013, or a Summer Internship for those graduating in 2012.

James Bennett, Managing Director EMEA and APAC for eFinancialCareers.com, said:

“The growing number of students participating in this year’s Investment Challenges have proven how prestigious an opportunity this is for students hungry for a head-start in the financial sector. Credit Suisse have also recognised what a valuable channel the Challenge is for identifying the next generation of Bright Young Things, and we’re delighted to be working with them once again.”

Jane Eccles, Head of Campus Marketing and Events at Credit Suisse, said:

“The skills required for successful trading are diverse and complex, and the Challenge enables us to engage with some of the best and brightest who are set to be the traders of tomorrow.”

Hmmmm........ eFinancial are actually one of the online global resources used very frequently by mid to high end financial recruiters (though admittedly probably not too relevant for accountancy recruiters).

I didn't mean to suggest there was anything dodgy about the company but it's still inappropriate advertising/PR masquerading as something else.
