Unit 10 - do we all have to do it?

Hi There

I am an independant student, doing the Diploma course.

I do not have any official centre, and I am paying for my own way through the AAT.

I am alarmed at the cost of the project in Unit 10. The cheapest I have been quoted is £250.

I've managed by buying the text books and studying by myself at home so far - but this is looming large - I've no reasonable hope of getting £250 in the near future.

Is it compulsory to complete this unit? Has anyone discovered a reasonably priced way of doing it?

Regards

Siobhan

It is compulsory to take the unit.

Don't know any more reasonable priced options, if you looked at the usual distance learners (BPP, Premier, Eagle, Kaplan and colleges).

It's quite a labour intensive unit for centres as there's lots of to ing and fro ing of draft reports, feedback, final interviews etc etc. That's why you're being quoted so much for it. It's not just a case of you sitting an assessment and getting someone to mark it. The feedback side of it is an AAT requirement, centres have to see the report at various stages of it's production and give feedback at all stages.

Thanks for this folks. I shall try to see if a college may be cheaper. The usual providers are so expensive!
