Change of business activity

When a Ltd Company completely changes what it does (there's not been any change of directors or address) is there a requirement to notify HMRC or Companies House or does it just get recorded on the next annual return? There's no losses from the previous trading activity to worry about - is there anything else I should be watching out for or thinking about?

Change the SIC code on the next annual return and that's about it.
Probably worth telling the VAT office if registered, as the potentially differing margins will confuse them and could trigger an enquiry.0 -
Cheers, they actually deregistered from VAT when they changed as the new activity is more retail based & they'd fallen below the threshold years ago.0
