Hi,
Im looking to do start at Level 2 and progress right the way through can anyone recommend a good company to learn through. I will be self sponsoring and currently work in financial advice so will be looking to start applying for jobs once qualified. I am going to be gaining experience through voluntary work is anyone else doing this and what is the feel from the industry when you apply for posistions.
Sorry about all the questions im just getting so stuck on which way to turn, ive looked at homelearning college but theyve quoted £3000 for level 2 and 3 is this reasonable??
thanks in advance
Tom

Hey,
check out Premier training. Thats who im with and they're great. They offer payment plans and are alot (and i mean lot!) cheaper than £3000.
Phone them up and have a chat.

Has anyone taken the route of studing by themselves not at a distance learning college or is this impossible?

Hello there,
I have done distance learning and found Kaplan brilliant...they provide excellent textt books and pocket notes for easy viewing. I would most definitely reccommend them. I think they also offer a "live online" option now too0 -
Im with Eagle Education, they are pretty good and no way near £3000!!!0

I'm with BPP, they have been quite good, was a few hiccups in regards to the availability of course materials, but that wasn't entirely their fault (what with changing to the new QCF syllabus) Their books are good, and the pocket notes are really handy.
You can do some of the units without a provider, but this depends on how confident you feel about learning it by yourself, do you know anyone who has studied AAT? or another accountancy qualification? I'm doing the first two exams without a provider (using the BPP books), and I have a friend who has just qualified who I can ask questions to. Or this forum is great if your stuck!
You can take the CBE exams at pretty much any of the majors centres as an external student, for no extra cost, i know that BPP and Kaplan let you do this. Some of the units require the provider to mark an assestment and then send this to the AAT, so those you cant do on your own.
Hope that helps!0 -

I am studying Distance Learning by myself at no college. The good thing about this is you can study at times that suit you. I have done all three levels with Premier Training and if I do get stuck I can phone or email my designated tutor. These forums are a great place to learn things too.
It is quite hard not studying the AAT at college but if you are determined and can commit yourself to studying when you plan to, you will get there in the end.
Good Luck0 -
there was a thread on here about home learning college - a few members on here had recommended to stay away as they were expensive and the service was shoddy.
i am with BPP and i do distance learning, i am in germany and i have had no problems with them at all.
