does anyone know how the forecast sales volume is worked out in 1.3 task? thnaks

Hello,
This question confused me LOADS to start with....
Its all in the dates of the chart and the question. The chart goes up to Nov 2007 but you have been asked to calculate for 2008. Therefore you can see that the trend is increasing by 5 each month (From lookng at the top line of the chart) So working forwards the trend for the following month will be as follows...
Dec 2007 310 (Nov 2007 is 305 so... 305 + 5 = 310)
Jan 2008 315
Feb 2008 320
Mar 2008 325
Apr 2008 330
May 2008 335
June 2008 340
July 2008 345
Aug 2008 350
September 2008 355
You can now see where the "underlying trend" comes from. I hope this helps sorry im not great at explaining things!

Just to say I think this is right but I am sitting this exam myself so am not 100% totally sure, its just what I think if you know what I mean... I dont want to cause you any confusion.0
