New client software

I'm currently using VT for Accounts but have been to see a new client who uses Sage to produce his invoices etc therefore will be giving me a file with his data every month. How do I deal with this? Do I need to purchase Sage in order to deal with him? and would it have to be the same version?

I don't think you need to buy Sage. If I remember right, the licence key goes with the data. This means that you can borrow your client's Sage disks to install the software and then restore the data from the backup given to you by your client.
I'd be interested in your comments comparing VT and Sage. I'm used to using Sage, but when I get my MIP licence and branch out on my own, I can't see that Sage will be affordable for my clients nor easy for me to manage multiple clients.0 -
If we have accounts from software that we don't have (like Quickbooks) then we just use the reports to run the accounts or bookkeeping0
