I have been working for a small firm of accountants for about 16months, and applied for membership a few weeks ago.

I recieved an email from the AAT telling me that my employer, who has also recomended me for membership has not completed the form correctley.

The firm where I work is only a 1 man business and although he has over 30years experience, he does not have any qualifications.

Could this be the reason why the AAT are telling my form is incomplete as my boss does not have any letters after his name?

has any one else had simillar sort of problems and how can you go about sorting them out?

Thanks

    AAT Membership

    Thank you for your post.

The fact that your line manager, who is not qualified, has verified your work experience for full membership is not an issue. As long as he has known of you and your work in a supervisory capacity for the duration of the time you are providing us with work experience about then he is an acceptable person to verify your experience.

It seems that the reason we have asked you for more information about your application is because not all of you experience and recommendation form was fully completed. I suggest that you give AAT a call on 020 7415 7600 so we can talk through what is needed to finalise your application.

Nicola Morris
AAT Deputy Membersâ?? Services Manager
