Hi, I did the NVQ 2 - 4 by distance learning - if you have a social life, get rid of it.

Only joking ! (well sort of !) - I found it best to set myself time aside which I would only waste anyway. for example - rather than aimlessly walk around town at lunch time I would do an hour of study instead. I also swapped watching crap on telly for half hour of study as well etc etc.

By doing this you can probably leave your weekends free !

I must admit - I didn't use the tutor much - the books were very good and it used to sink in after reading it 7 or 8 times !!!.

Stick at it - it is worth it in the end.

Good luck

0 -

distance learning
Oh yes, you get a named tutor and contact details - unless things have changed. Even if you decide not to use them - you will still get feedback on your mock devolved assessments etc.

You will get all this info when you get your pack.

Cheers

0 -

I did home study for both Foundation and Intermediate. I passed my exams first time, but it was a bit tough because I studies everything as I didn't know what was in the exams. I then moved from the same home study company to their Local College in Birmingham for Technician Level and actually found this easier than having to do home study in Foundation and Intermediate, as we were told what to study and were given loads of past exam papers which helped a lot. All I had to do was go to college once a week for 2 hrs in an evening and attend 2 revision day courses. (PEV & PCR) I'm starting my DFS in September and for 10 weeks have to go to college once a week.

If you can try and get your hand on lots of past exam papers for you to practice and familiarise how the exams are set out. Also I think you should explore the option of going to college (definitely for Tech stage)0
