Hello fellow members,
I am interested to know whether there is anyone here that has studied in this particular way as i have completed AAT and am looking to complete AAT2ACA.
I have done thorough research about the necessary training/study for the course however, when the ICAEW talk about AAT exemptions from modules it becomes very hazy as to what you are exempt from exactly and how many exams you are expected to take??!! (knowledge or application modules or both?!) I have read through the credits a hundred times but its so confusing..
If anyone could help with this in straight forward english I would be extremely grateful.
Sarah
P.s I have completed all of the AAT exams and simulations.(Auditing, both tax papers etc)

Hi Sarah,
I haven't done the AAT2ACA myself but have a colleague who has and they've given me some links and information which might help you.
For details of the scheme try http://www.icaew.com/en/qualifications-and-programmes/aca/aca-training-in-the-uk/exams/aat-aca-fast-track
To check out the exemptions http://www.icaew.com/en/qualifications-and-programmes/aca/aca-training-in-the-uk/exams/credit-for-prior-learning/apply-for-credit-for-prior-learning-cpl
On the above screen scroll down to "Students with AAT qualification" and clink on the credit for prior learning directory link, on that page go to the professional body search and find AAT (top one), once you've hit search you can choose which AAT qualification you did (NVQ, diploma or new). (Sorry linking the results page doesn't work!) From the modules you've noted it looks like you would be exempt from 5 of the knowledge modules. It depends on the option papers you did at Technician.
In addition there is an option to do a top-up paper for the Accounting module at application level, but she didn't know anything about that as she'd had to do all the modules at application level!
I'd send ICAEW an email or call them to confirm on the last bit.0
