I guess the time has come for me to stop preparing accounts in excel and buy proper accounts production software that will produce accounts in the required iXBRL format. I currently use Ftax to file Corporation Tax returns so I just need something to prepare the accounts with.

I have the latest VT with IXBRL, however havent done the first one with it yet, that's my weekend's worth of working0

VT goes really well with FTax and I think FTax is designed with VT in mind.
I've not tried the iXBRL function yet but I assume it is as simple and effective as the rest of VT!0 -
thanks, I see VT does a free trial as well so i'm going to give it a try0

I've done a handful of iXBRL submissions with VT iXBRL attachments now, all have been fine. The only problem is that VT aren't yet on the HMRC approved list, but this doesn't affect submission.
Out of interest, VT say they will be adding a ct return function next year as part of the package - excellent!0
