Does any one know if there is a threshold for becoming a contractor under CIS. I have a client who has paid £150 for a friend of his to help him on a job, i.e. he has paid a subcontractor. It hardly seems worth the hassle for £150 and just wondered if there was a way to get out of CIS?

There is no threshold, a contractor is a contractor. However, if this is a one off and never going to happen again, I would be inclined to ignore it.0
