At the end of March I started this thread, and a number of people indicated they would be interested in entering the survey.
If you want to enter please email the answers to the following questions to survey@allbeanscounted.co.uk. Don't post your answers on this thread please.
Everyone who enters will get a summary of the results.
Personal tax
1 Your target price per hour (accounts & compliance work)
2 Simple tax return - e.g. employment, interest, dividends
3 As 2 but with 1 rental property
4 As 2 but with 5(ish) rental property portfolio
Self-employed (accounts and self-assessment return)
5 Simple cash based business e.g. hairdresser, gardener
6 More complex accounts e.g. building, other trades, taxi driver
7 Balance sheet essential - e.g.retailer, business to business
8 More complex, a small pub or larger retailer
9 The uplift on 5 - 8 you would anticipate for a partnership (per additional partner)
Limited Companies (Statutory accounts & CT600)
10 Negligible trading - i.e. your base price for a non-dormant company
11 Simple one man band e.g. professionals, consultants etc
12 Micro business, < 5 staff, business premises, t/o typical £250k
13 Medium business, up to 10 staff, t/o approx £500k
14 The nice client! t/o £500k - £1M. Probably your best fee earners
Other Services (if applicable)
15 Payroll - monthly payroll for up to 5 staff
16 VAT return - check bookkeeping and prepare return
17 Bookkeeping (per hour) charge
18 Management accounts - target price per hour.
19 P35 year end filing for limited co. with directors only
20 P11D - price per employee/director
Please include a 'password' so you can identify your own data in the results ('passwords' will be visible to all, so use something you can easily identify as yours, you do not need to remember it).
Notes
Please do not give me a range - just pick a mid point.
Every client will not fit the above but you should be able to slot the others between those you can match.
Assume competent record keeping appropriate to the size of client.
Please unbundle any directors SA returns from 10 - 14 using prices from 2.
If you don't have a specific client type please enter N/A rather than guess a fee.
All fees VAT exclusive please.
Assume no audit undertaken.
With kind thanks to Steve Holloway from AWeb for the format of the survey.

Thanks folks for the replies - we have some, but really need some more to make some meaningful data. If anyone else would like to contribute, please feel free0

I'd love to contribute Monsoon, but my figures will be estimates at the moment as I'm just setting up my practice. If this is okay I'll send the info over! I think I do have a realistic idea of my prices though as I've worked in practice for 12 years so think I have a good platform to judge from.0 -

Hi,
Yes, no problem0 -
Hi Monsoon.
Do you have a deadline in place for submissions. I'd like to take part but I'm a bit busy this week.
Regards

That's fine Paul. Results seem to be trickling in slowly, so I will keep it on the back burner until we have a good sample size. I will give notice if I'm going to close the survey0 -
Last call for survey entries!
My sample size is 7 - would be nice to make it to at least 10.
I will be compiling results probably next week, so please do pop me an email this week if you can.
Thank you again to all those who have taken part so far.0 -
Any chance of getting the results of this survey?
I'm starting out and it would be very useful.
Thank you0 -
