I have just started using Linkedin. Does anyone fancy linking up / networking on Linkedin or Facebook?

If you do, could you please send me a PM.

Cheers
Paul

Maybe best just linking to people within our regions?

I can see where you are coming from PGM. In many ways though AAT and accounting is small world - even across regions.

If anyone else is interested though please PM me.
    Cheers

LinkedIn is a good idea. I've never seen Facebook as a networking tool though, more a social one.

We currently spend a fair bit of time with all this twitter, linkn, facebook, flicr at work. I don't mean to be negative but I've still to be convinced of its benefits.

Its definitely worth having some online presence, just knowing how much...

    I'm on Twitter for business
Facebook for personal, including folk from here. I don't add clients to my FB unless I get on really well with them personally.

Just re-joined LinkedIn. I don't get it at all. But hey, whatever. I'm on there. for all the good it does me!

I have clients across the UK so just linking up regionally wouldn't make sense for me.

Think LinkedIn is for job searching, i.e. a lot of recruitment companies use it to search for candidates.

Just found you there, still don't understand it either, but well, kind of planning to update my details, but am a bit worried about dropping so much personal information online!

I'm Paul Cowie in Plymouth on LinkedIn.

I don't understand it fully either but I am trying to get my head around it......

There is an AAT group on there that looks quite good.

Me neither but I seem to have time on my hands here at work today, really must get more clients and run my practice full time. Yep have joined the AAT group.

Could you pm me your email address so I can invite you please - ignore that found it!

Yup, it's an excellent tool for head hunters (and let's face it, who wouldn't love to be head hunted for a top job?)

Downside is, hiring managers can also use LinkedIn to look up the name of a CV we've submitted and try to poach (aka thieve) the candidate directly and avoid paying a fee even though they've used our service.
