I know we don't have the results yet but....

Is it right that the CIMA resits are week commencing 31 Aug? Does anyone know if P1 and E1 are both able to be re-sat then?

I return from a week in Turkey 26th Aug so will be pushed if I do have any resits then!!!

I looked into it at the start of the week and I think you are right on both ends.

But I did notice there isn't a local place I can do a resit, so I think if I failed one (or both), I'll just wait for November.

Try to enjoy this period before the results are published.

You cannot do anything about the papers that you took in May now.
I know the students who were in my classes worked incredibly hard from Feb to May and had no life. The light at the end of the tunnel is now and you really ought to make the most of it.

Living through the tough times when you have little time to do anything apart from study is worthwhile if there is a better time to look forward to. If you make the most of this break, you will be able to look back on now and it will spur you on through October when times are much harder.

My classes will go bowling on July 16th, and everyone can see where each is going from there.
I'll be running two services from mid-July until the September re-sits
    1. Revision days
    2. Marked questions

    The revision days will address specific topics on all 6 units (E1, F1, P1, E2, F2, P2)

The marked questions have detailed feedback and are available on all 6 of the papers listed above (I write a lot on the answers that you send in, to provide guidance for the future) This isn't the same as the much quicker marking that you can have on a practice question day.

For the first time, I am also offering specific topic days for early starters on F3. These look at typically tricky topics for students who are studying at home. One day will look at CAPM, WACC and ungearing/regearing beta values.

Go out and do something enjoyable. Then it will be something to remember.

I've done the enjoyable bits quite a lot already! I went to visit friends I hadn't seen for 4 - 5 years in the past weekend and spent time shopping for new glasses and other fun stuff, unfortunately it is also the time to catch up on the cleaning!

It's just that the holiday planning at work was a bit tight, so I had to show the exams for holiday planning, otherwise my colleague would be on holiday in the November exam week!

Sandy, out of curiosity, the marked questions you are offering is that in classroom or also available for distance learners?

Slackda, for what I could see is that the nearby BPP centre only offered T4 and not the exams I sat.

Anyways, no time to worry about these yet, for now I am just enjoying the time off!

I've enjoyed myself a lot but now results are only a few weeks away it's hard not to get panicky and think about the options!

I will try not to think too much until the 14th!!

What I have done has been to email or post questions to students who then attempt them (handwritten) and either post them back or scan and attach them to emails.
I mark them and return them, more often than not by post. I have sent some back scanned but it is important to see the diffferent colours of my comments from the original answers.

    So in response to:
is that in classroom or also available for distance learners?

    The answer is:
It is entirely for distance learners.

It takes me quite a bit of time to mark the answers as I am looking for areas to improve rather than just looking at where I can award marks, so doing it in class wouldn't work.

    Sandy,

How much do you charge for assigning and marking questions for long distance studiers?

Haha, yes it definitely feels that way already!

Luckily I got a drinking session planned on Saturday evening. Well, more like an evening in the pub with a friend, but it can easily turn either way. Maybe I should plan one for the Thursday evening as well, but I think I'll be too busy answering the phone from friends calling to see if I passed. I used to keep very quiet about results day, so that if I didn't pass, I would have the evening to myself before having to explain it, but somehow it came out for these exams and I just hope they all forgot about it by Thursday.

The worst one so far was one where my mum called to hear about the results, before I even got the results. Since then I've just been keeping it quiet as much as possible. This year I thought I was safe, since my parents are on holiday, but my sister called Saturday and asked if I had results yet.

Anyways, a couple of days of freedom left to enjoy! And then it's time to get those books out and start doing some serious work again!

I'm trying to decide whether it's worth getting cake for the Friday at work. If I pass it would be to celebrate, if not, it would be the perfect comfort food!

What time do they start sending the emails out normally, do you know? It probably is somewhere on the CIMA site, but I haven't really searched yet.

5am! There's no way I'll be sleeping Wed night then.

I haven't told any friends when we get the results. The worst bit will be telling my boss if I fail :(

I'm going to see The Script Thursday night so hopefully will be celebrating.
