Does anyone on here do Adwords? I've got an Adwords voucher and as I'm actively looking to grow my practice this year, I've decided to try and do an adwords campaign. I'm totally stuck on my keywords though.
I'm already one page 1 of google for "Accountant Town" in position 1 or 2 where "town" is either of the 2 nearby towns to me. The adwords results for these phrases when I run a search aren't targetted local ones, they are just generic accountancy services, from online accountants. I am also an online accountant but I know the keywords here will be more competitive. Because of this, I really don't know if it's worthwhile me spending on adwords for local business and maybe ought to aim it at general online uk business instead.
Any advice? Thanks

I have used adwords for the last 3-4 years. The last 18 months I have really monitored it and got it working well. It takes time to get right but I have achieved ROI as high as nearly 30 times.
I will email some more detail if you want or give me a call Jenni and I will explain my findings.Regards,

I've been trying to figure out adwords too, without success! I don't know if I'm putting in too many or quite what, but it's quite confusing for a complete amateur!
Can I email you too Ian?FMAAT - AAT Licensed Member in Practice - Pewsey, Wiltshire0 -
I have had several phone calls since I started on it.
After reading some Adwords advice in here I set a (low) daily budget & also kept it for people only within 15 miles of my address. I found that even setting the budget very low at 50p per day I would get 2 to 4 clicks per week through to my website ( so a couple quid per week).
It shows you what key words do well and which do badly - so you can fine tune.0 -
I've tried to start an Adwords campaign but it is not working as well as I'd hoped. Maybe I'm not using the right keywords? How many clicks should I expect a week and what level of bid should I be using??
As said above it's confusing for an total amateur!! Any chance of a quick summary email of your findings Ian?
Every time I try something new I realise how much "stuff" is out there I know nothing about! Can feel a little overwhelming at times! Good job I love learning new stuff!0
