AAT 2011 fees survey - the results!

A sample of the (median) average fees charged:

Personal tax
Your target price per hour (accounts & compliance work) - £52.50
Simple tax return £105

Self-employed (accounts and self-assessment return)
Simple cash based business e.g. hairdresser, gardener - £255
Balance sheet essential - e.g.retailer, business to business £430

Limited Companies (Statutory accounts & CT600)
Negligible trading - i.e. your base price for a non-dormant company £320
Micro business, < 5 staff, business premises, t/o typical £250k £870

Other Services
Payroll - monthly payroll for up to 5 staff £23
VAT return - check bookkeeping and prepare return £82.50
Bookkeeping (per hour) charge £25

Full results will be emailed to all who participated. :thumbup:

I found it really interesting to see the charges, even though I haven't even got my own business. Just handy to know for when I consider starting up.
