Redundancy

Hey All

Ive been working in accounts for the past three years, only to find out this week I am being made redundant from my current job. I am two exams and my unit 10 project of finishing AAT level 4. I hope to have all this complete in December as I am due to sit both exams then. I just wondered does anyone have any tips about looking for a new job?

    Sorry to hear about the redundancy, have you thought about going to an agency, we actually recruited our last vacancy through Hays rather than having all the hassle ourselves.

    Hi Lyndsey,

    Sorry to hear about your redundacy. I would also recommend registering with an agency or two. They should have suitable jobs on their books and should be able match vacancies with your experience. I was made redundant in 2007 and have found several suitable roles via agencies.

    The other main thing I would recommend is to make sure you have a really good CV, ask a relative, colleague or friend to have a read through and see how it comes accross to a third party.
