Non resident & Inheritance Tax

I had a potential new client visit today and he is a non UK resident who owns and rents out several properties in the UK. Currently he is exempt from CGT but he is worried if in the future it changes so he wanted to know what IHT implication would be if he gifted one of his properties to his daughter. I am really out of my depth with this one and will hand him over a more experienced IHT accountant but I was just curious, would UK IHT apply?
Thanks
