Payroll for one Employee

Hi,
I am doing a few hours bookkeeping a week at a garage.
He has asked if I could do the Payroll - it is for one person !
I was told that HMRC offer a free system if there are only a few employyes - does any one use this ?
The garage owner accountant's have told him that I will be unable to submit year end figs and P35.
Is that the case ?
Or are the Accountants just trying to hold onto business ?
I would be very grateful for any advice.
Many Thanks

I don't use it myself but I have a client who uses the HMRC free software and files his own P35 and so far he has had no problems.0

Haven't used it for a while, but it used to work fine! Ideal for one or a few employees!0

Yep, as with all HMRC software, it's free and you get what you pay for, but it does at least work. And it submits P14s and P35s and P11Ds so you're fine to do all of it.0

Yep it does the job. Simple and straight-forward especially, if it's only for one employee.0
