Im in final year AAT, am qualified in Sage Line 50 and use this daily, do all the accounts at the company i work for.
I work in industry and would really love a job in practice but theres none out there. Are we allowed to go self employed whilst still studying or do we have to wait to become MAAT ?

thanks

You can but you cannot refer to the AAT in any way and you cannot do work that is beyond your abilities. You will need professional indemnity insurance as well.

so if i got professional indemnity insurance i could do the accounts of ie sole traders etc? as ive only got experience in industry would there be anything i havent been exposed to? ive never worked in practice so except for month end and year end i dont know what else i would be expected to do?
I do have some experience of tax returns but not much, am currently looking for voluntary work to get more experience than i can get in my current employment.
