Husband and wife got divorced in 2010/11 and the wife is continuing their business (exactly as it was before) as a sole trader. Pship made a loss. Husband can set his portion of the loss against his employment income, but can the wife carry her portion of the loss forward to set against future profits of the (sole trader) business or do the cessation rules kick in?

The business didn't cease, it just lost a partner, so I would say that the loss can be carried forward.0
