I have just looked at the website and all the answers are up for the papers apart from F8 :( why have they done this? Surely this is a bad sign that the paper was badly answered. I really wish they would hurry up.

I doubt this would be any bad sign in any way shape or form.

But please remember, that even if they do put up the answers, it doesn't mean they look like anything a student would write, as the model answers are done without time pressure and with all the research available that you can think of.

Not sure why you'd want to look at those answers though, it would only make me more nervous.

Have you considered just enjoying the break and having a bit of time off from your studies instead of checking up on the model answers and getting all worried again?

I know a lot of people have said this to you before, but I still wonder if you maybe stress too much and work yourself towards a burnout this way! Take it easy, take up some hobby thats completely unrelated to accountancy and enjoy the fact that when you get home, you don't have to pick up those books, but can spent the time with family instead!

This is not me attacking you or telling you to not post, this is just me wondering if you should take a step back and relax until the results come in. :)

You're right Rinske, but really is easier said than done. I've looked at model answers and all it ever does is make you feel more anxious.

You can rarely remember the number answers in enough detail, and the wordy bits are so much better than you could even do in a time limited exam.

    That is also true!

Although so far I managed not to look at any of the answers after I sat the exams. Or at least, not until I received the results. Then again, I've usually either enjoyed the break or ended up studying for the next units already, so I don't really think about the exam results that much, other then just after I sat the exam, until the results day comes very near. It might just be me though!

I hope you can find the answers online soon or find a way to let go of your worries for a bit Glynis!

Glynis it was the same when the CIMA answers were posted online, the majoritiy were available within a couple of weeks, but F1, F2, & F3 were only available last week, about a month after all the others. The delay is normally only because each paper has a different examiner, and nothing to do with how the paper was answered.

You also have to be careful, if you look at the answers, as it is easy to think you have failed when you compare what you wrote to the examiner's perfect answer. The examiners do give you marks for other relevant points, which aren't in the published answers.

I was certain I had failed one of my CIMA exmas, when I looked at the answers and worked out where I though I had picked up marks, but I actually passed :001_smile:

Thankyou for your advices. This is a really stress full time at the minute because I am trying to get a permanent job and if I go for any accountant roles with an agency they automatically say that I need to be part qualified. They then send me details of jobs which I don't want so I desparately need to know if I have passed or not:(

After 35 years of working this is where I end up. How's that fair?

There's definitely a lack of fairness. Just need to look at the people protesting in London and New York. What happened to those people, all seemed to go quiet on the news?!

Have you considered setting up by yourself doing bookkeeping?

I've hardly thought about the results in February, probably because I know I've failed F5.

I just could not be bothered looking at the model answers now as there is nothing you can do about it.

Are you really sure becoming part-qualified is really going to make all that much difference to your employment
chances? I've thought finishing my AAT would open all sorts of doors but hasn't really for me.

Personally I think you are placing too much emphasis on the importance of passing your exams quickly. Careers take
time to build and you will need to be patient building up your practical work experience.

Its probably a little naive to think you are just going to be able to perform well in a job straight away because you
    have passed a few exams.

I agree with the above post totally. I really really hope that you have done well with F8, but with regard to a career and accountancy, the exams mean nothing - it is all experience. I was lucky enough to get a job shortly after finishing my AAT (12 months ago) and i'm in a position where I can continue my studies when i'm ready. Initially I was wanting to start imediatly but once I got going I realised I was no where near experienced enough to continue then as I just didn't have the knowledge yet even after level 4.
I have already learned so much more than the AAT could ever have taught me although it gave me such a brilliant start to a career that I feel it was definetly the best start I could have had BUT I know for a fact I could not sell myself as an accountant with that as my only qualification and no practical experience.
Good luck to you all waiting for results

Although I've struggled to obtain practical experience in the workplace I've never let it stop me studying.

I'm now studying at a much higher level than any of my previous jobs would have required.

I think it depends on what motivates you to study. Some are motivated by career opportunities, others by
    commanding greater financial rewards etc.

For me personally its probably the opportunity to progress further and a sense of feeling challenged.

I must say one thing though. I'm really disappointed by the limited opportunities to study at an educational
centre closer to my home. Also I'm rather unlucky in that no colleges or universities close to me offer ACCA, which
means I'm forced to look at the more expensive private providers like BPP.

I'm sure BPP and Kaplan have excellent study programmes but ยฃ400.00 per paper is very demanding on the
    finances.
