P11d for leavers

I'm noticing this a lot, people who have left employment mid way through the tax year often come and don't have a P11d, I'm not sure if it is because they have simply forgotten to include or haven't been given one.
My gut says that they should have one issued because even if they only had van benefit for half the year it is still an assessable benefit that needs restricting. Any other experience or light to shed?

Hi
P11d's are only issued at the end of the tax year. Therefore, anyone who leaves mid tax year won't receive one then but should receive one when their previous employer completes the year end filling.

Thought so. Didn't make sense for benefits to be on an 'all or nothing' basis!0
