Hi everyone
I have recently been headhunted by a company which i went for an interview for back in august and got the job 'Accounts Admin' but denied it for my current role 'Assistant Accountant'.
I had an email on friday from their accountant, basically saying he had been promoted to Financial Controller and there is now an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant and he wants me to do the job as he saw me as a strong candidate before, its 4k more than what I am currently on and they will pay for study etc, and i did like what i saw from when i went there for interviews.
However my current role is similar but I work for an american owned company, proposed offer is working for a large UK based company.......
Any ideas on what I should do? I have only been in my new job since sept?! aghhh!!

Well if you don't take it give me details so I can apply ;-)
But seriously, if you wanted it then, they are offering you more money, are willing to support you with studies, apart from practicalities etc, why wouldn't you want it?0 -
true.....i am only 19 afterall.
but dont want to look like I am job hopping!!!
Tough decision!0 -
Don't see it as job hopping, you were an 'interim assistant accountant' at x.
It's early days in your career anyway. A friend of mine said to get ahead your supposed to stay in the same job for three years then either move sideways or across (not nessecarily in the same company). I'd say that's out of the window until your established in your career path so don't worry about it.0 -
Hi Amy
I agree 'go for it'. these opportunities don't come along very often.
Good Luck

You could try approaching your current employer and tell them what you have been offered. Be honest tell them you would very much like to stay where you are but you would be a fool to ignore such a financial step up entirely. Ask them if they can match the offer for you to stay, or explain that you regret but you have no option but to leave. Explain you haven't gone looking that you turned the other company down months ago and that you are merely needing to look out for yourself.
Good luck whatever you decide.
