MiP - SA with incomplete records

Hi

I recently gained my MiP status and have also got myself 2 clients. Both probably a bit of a nightmare, but I suppose you have to start somewhere. I have lots of industry experience, but limited practice experience.

Both my clients need to complete SAs and have a serious case of incomplete records. I am meeting with the first one this weekend.

I was planning to have a look at what records do exist and see what I can piece together, in order to submit some estimated figures to HMRC.

Does anyone have any advice or experience in this area?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Experience will tell you if you should get money on account first, educate the client on his/her record keeping requirements, business record checks, penalties etc, work from the invoices you have and bank statements to estimate and remember to disclose basis in the white space
