I've got my new apprentice starting tomorrow - I've very excited!

Anyone got any advice on do's & don'ts to make sure he settles in well?

    Hello Jodie

Please see attached checklist which I found from a quick google search. I'm sure there will be items/sections that are not relevant but it will give you some ideas to build on.

Good luck and hope all goes well tomorrow.

    Hi Jodie

We have had several apprentices working in both HR and Finance and the only thing that annoys me is some people see them as cheap labour and they are given the most menial tasks to do, I appreciate that all jobs have the rotten things like filing and shredding but not for 7 hrs a day.

I'm not implying one moment you will do this, it was just a rant. Especially as we have a work experience person coming in July and a manager in another office turned round and said ' oh good we need a pile of shredding doing'.

Luckily most of the apprentices stuck it out and have now got full time jobs.

Good luck and I'm sure you will be fine, and as Jo's list says don't forget the main two places, the kitchen and the toilets, there a must, can't function without a coffee
