Hi Jane
I can sympathise with you, I have FNPF at 9.30 in the morning, and its my final exam so the pressure is on!
As you say, stay calm, you will be fine with FNST, I didn't think it was as bad as people make out, granted its a tough 'un, but they all are in their own ways.
I'm more worried about FNPF than I have been about any of the others lol!
Get a good nights sleep!
Good luck

Thanks Newts22
Good luck for 2moro am for FNP, thanks for your words , I don't think I will have any fingernails left by 2moro afternoon though )).
Good luck to everyone else for up and coming exams, it will be good when it's all over then we can sit back and relax for a bit until the next onslaught.

HI Jane,
I Hope your exam went ok!
FNPF was awful lol!! The 2 part was ok, but the 1st, oh dear lol!
Hopefully ive done enough to pass it though, time will tell!
So nice potentially not having any more exams, just a project to crack on with, but im having a few weeks break as im moving house this weekend.
Glass of wine for us tonight!x0 -
Hi Newts, i feel for you i sat my FNPF exam 2 weeks ago and it was tough i stayed right till the end which i have never done before i have normally finished before the time is up! Now for the waiting game!! Like you this was my last exam, good luck with your results0
-
Thanks Becky
Yeh I just want my results now, so if I did fail I can crack on for a resit, 6 weeks is forever lol!
Good luck in your wait too!0 -
:crying:
Hi Newts22
Well that was an exam from hell, hated hated hated it!! I couldn't balance the SOFP and the consolidated SOFP. I flagged both questions to go back to after i had answered the others. I answered the written bits but don't know if i answered them correctly or if I covered what they wanted. I went back to the flagged questions with 25 mins to spare, but just couldn't find where I went wrong.
The working out bits on my paper with the drop down menus, I filled out all of them that had a arrow but am now doubting whether i should have done that, God I hate this doubting yourself, and worse still i can't remember what I did now!!!! Yuk Yuk Yuk.
Oh well I will now one way or the other in 6 weeks, but I really think another resit is winging its way toward me.
I am sure your exam was ok and I am sure you will have passed. I am now being a couch potatoe, and relaxing, My eyes are so scratchy and dont know how long I will be able to keep them open
Good luck with your moving this weekend, glad its you and not me!! LOL

Hi Jane,
I'm really sorry to hear that you think your exam hasn't gone well, I will have my fingers and toes crossed for you getting the result you'll no doubt deserve. I was hoping you might be up for giving a little advice? I have my FNST exam on 17th July and I am extremley concerned about part 2 which I believe covers IAS's and IFRS's, I was so worried that we have 21 of these buggers to learn and could be asked anything!! I know I still have a good bit of time to go but this is exactly the reason for me getting stuck into revision earlier than I normally would. Doesn't really help hearing horrible story's about this exam and it could potentially be my last!
Thank you advance

Hi Steph
Oh I'm sorry, hope I haven't scared anyone with my post. It's just me venting off after all the hard work I put in and then it went wrong for me on the day. That's not to say that the same will happen to anyone else, this is just my experience.
Please don't let me put anyone else off that was the last of my intentions.
The written bits, well as you say, it is impossible for me to actually say what will come up. I had a question on IAS 10 I had to explain the difference between 'Adjusting' and 'Non-adjusting' events.
then there were the normal true/false random questions. I also had one on IAS 2 inventory. I had to work out the profit from what was sold, and a number of purchases of a number of stock through out the year.
All I can say, is learn the standards the bestt you can, as there is no telling which of them you will be examined on.
to all of you that still havve this exam to do, please don't let my post put you off I am sure you will be just fine.

Oh Jane, I'm sorry hun!
Although I was a bit like that after my FNST, I had a q on how to deal with a bargain purchase, and I know what I wrote was 100% wrong yet I still passed, so don't give up hope yet!
The over analysing afterwards is awful, I haven't done that this time, way too many other things to think about lol! As for this move, well it's a biggy, 150 miles, so I definately need the break from studying lol!
All the best x0 -

Wow, that is far, how can you leave sunny Devon though? I'm in sunny Somerset, and moved here from South Africa about 13 years ago, so I know what biggy moves are all about. I am a northern lass through and through though
All the best with the move hun.

Hi Jane,
Oh no sorry it wasn't anything you said I just meant in general as there is so much emphasis on this exam and I am really hoping it is my last one (fingers crossed touch wood and all that good stuff). Just feeling very overwhelmed I guess, need to get myself ontop of things. Just wish we could all me handed a few sheets of paper told to learn it because we may get asked questions on anything to do with whats on those sheets if that makes sense??
Anyway, thank you for your comment. I am keeping everything crossed for you. Let us know how you get on.
Take Care

Lol, I know this exam is a really well talked about one isn't it. I didn't get to sleep until about half 3 this morning, as I was going over and over it in my head!! Daft or what, there isn't anything I can do now.
I also realised though that when answering my question on IAS 10 I had to give two examples of each, and I got one, but then confused some with IAS 8!!! Doh, just too much to remember with these standards. If I do have a resit, I am going to make sure I know the standards a bit better than I do at the moment. Think I was concentrating more on the number crunching than anything else.
Anyway, I am still smiling and not going to let this get the better of me, I will just dust myself off and pick myself up and do it again, and again until I do get a competent mark
Happy studying and will keep fingers crossed for you. Remember though KEEP CALM. :thumbup1:

Well good luck with the move, hope you settle in quickly. What have you got for the ICAS or are you doing your own case study? Once you start with it, it just seems to flow. My advice is once you start it try not to put it down for too long a period otherwise you loose track of where you are with it.
Happy moving0 -
Thank you Jane!
I will be doing the case study, not don't know which it will be yet. I am planning on starting it and hopefully competing it within 3 weeks, as I don't want it dragged out over the summer holidays! Mind you with all this lack of sleep I could have completed it this week lol!!
Crazy what we put ourselves through lol! X0 -
