Hi All :001_smile:

I am just wondering if someone would be able to give me some advice?

I currently work as Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk for a well known vehicle rental company. I need to get my ICAS project done asap as I am wanting to start CIMA in September.

What it is, I used to work for an electrical contractors and had completed 3000 of the ICAS, however as the company has gone under I now need to restart my project with my new company.

Has anyone done a purchase ledger based ICAS project? If so can you give me any ideas on what I can it on? ETC what have you done yours on what type of scenario?

I work within a large team of 27 members of staff. We have all been assigned suppliers by letter within teams of 3. We deal with C - F suppliers. We reconcile accounts for every payment every month ....time consuming? Anyone got any ideas if we can save time on reconciliations? Anyone done anything similar?

Sorry this is so long winded just really want to get a start on it as I want it done asap.

Thanks for your help.

Lyndsey xx

Just wondering why you feel you can't continue with your old report. There are special rules for this type of situation where getting an employer testimony would be difficult or not possible so your training provider should still accept your old report. The fact that the company has gone under is of no relevance to your ICAS report.

    Hey.

My training provider will not let me use the project to complete my aat he thinks it will be easier to start again on something more relevant to what I'm doing currently.

That must be really irritating for you. I sometimes wonder if all training providers actually know what they're talking about. To be told that you can't continue with it when there's no reason not to continue, particularly as you were so far into it, is ridiculous. What a waste of your time and effort and theirs in having reviewed what you've already done only to have to start again.

    Hi Lyndsey,
"My training provider thinks it will be easier......"
Why? have you checked with the AAT? Does the training provider want to charge you again? Is there an issue of time limit? If the company has, sadly, gone under, then there may well be scope for the project?
With regard to the purchase ledger reconciliations, is there a computerised system in place? can it automatically allocate invoices to payments, so that you can see what is outstanding? or needs querying?
I would check first with the AAT,
    Good luck,
    GP

I would also say check with the AAT about this. You have nearly completed your project, you should not have to start all over again.

Good luck and let us know what they say
