CT number preceding CT ref

Does any one know how to find out the number before the CT ref number?
i.e XXX/1234567891
Normally I'd look for the company's CT demand from HMRC, however client does not know where it is, and looking at the hmrc online site, I can only get the 10 numbers which I know already!!
Any easy ways, or does it need a call to HMRC?
Thanks

I've not found an easy way to do this, but I did notice that on one return I filed a few months ago I put the reference that was on the 'notice to file' and realised the other day that I'd received a 'change of office' notification before I'd filed the return and it had gone through fine. I guess it's similar to HMRC's address on the personal tax returns - now that we file it all online it's a bit irrelevant which address goes in the box.0

Thanks Jodie!
I went on a bit of a google mission - and found this webpage - http://search3.openobjects.com/kbroker/hmrc/locator/search.spatial?sr=0&as=1&cs=UTF-8&sp_scope=hmrctaxo&sf=&sm=0&nh=10&type=0&fl6=sp_nearest%3A&tx6=1&op6=0&ty6=0&type=0&tx5=2671&fl5=regime%3A&op5=1&ty5=0&ha=140&sp_loc=avon&sp_pc=&tx3=&submit=Search
Unfortunately it didnt give me the conclusive answer I needed - however a quick call to the number on that page got me an answer in less than a minute! And indeed, that was a call to HMRC themselves! Good job I was sitting down! :-)0
