Hi to all - I am looking for students that would be interested in being mentors for my level 2 students. They started September and are coming up to first exam in a few weeks time for BA I. I would love to hear from any AAT - preferably level 4, student that can help build students confidence and knowledge, someone they can turn to when the students has tried finding the answer but is unsure if correct.
thank you Donna
thank you Donna

Hi Donna, how would this work? what study materials are your students using?

Hello Donna
I have just completed level 4, pending ICAS IV, but would be interested in helping current students.
Please provide further details in order that I can give this further consideration, for example how it will work and what materials the students are using (as asked by Neil)

I'd love having a crack at mentoring Jo, my dream job would be that of a Tutor.
I'm not saying i'm perfect and initially there would be a lot of hard graft to do, but i think the reward for such a job is fantastic.

i'm interested too, but like the other I would like to know what it involves!0

I'd like to be a mentor too. I am AAT MIP and part qualified ATT, final exam in November.

I haven't done any mentoring before but I'd be interested! I completed AAT last year and I'm currently studying CIMA, and I would also like to know what it involves.0

Maybe we should all get together and set up our own Training provider/Tutor service dedicated to AAT.

I think it is a great idea providing a mentor service through the forum so that anyone can benefit rather than just the students at one college
You should get in touch with the AAT webteam to see how you could get it to work .
I'll glady be involved with any AAT project such as this.0 -
I see Donna has posted on Linkedin asking for mentors.....
Hmmmm I wonder what's wrong with us lot lol.
Ahhh well, i hope to be busy with ACCA in the New Year.0 -
I was looking forward to helping/mentoring level 2/3/4 students.
Perhaps Donna will come back and post further details or at least let us know if she no longer requires volunteers.~ An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest ~Benjamin Franklin0 -
AAT mentors Level 2
a big apologies to all of you that have been offering yr services as a mentor - Neil has just jogged me to confirm there are postings which I never realised. Unfortunately new to this forum and I am used to getting an email if comments are made. Anyway.
I tutor level 2 at an adult education centre - I do have Four level 4 students at present that have kindly offered their services to mentor my students through BA I. I am pleased to say all 13 students last night reached the standard required to pass so things are so far looking good.
I would love more mentors on board so each students can have a mentor each if required or mentors that have proved they specialise in a subject.
All support is email based, as and when students have a question to put forward. The idea is to encourage an build the students confidence. A student should give you their thoughts to an answer for you to guide them rather than you fully answering the question.
anyone interested please feel free to email me directly info@completebookkeeping.co.uk and a copy cv and experience would be good. If you are still studying a confirmation from your tutor would be nice that they are happy for you to do this.
thank you Donna

I too would be interested in helping/tutoring/ mentoring level 2/3/4 students.. I think it would be great for students to have this availability- I know this would have been a great help to me for the first couple of years as I begun AAT with no financial experience whatsoever!!0

I'm in full agreement! I think people can take it upon themselves to private message a more experienced member on here and keep in touch/ help eachother out. Its really positive from my experience of doing so anyway0 -
Thanks for all that have replied to be mentors - I had such a good response I am still going through - if you haven't already please email a copy cv and details of your AAT (info@completebookkeeping.co.uk). At the present students are studying BA 2 - second week only so mentors may be required in the future. Basic costing I think may be the hard one to get students through.
Once again - thank you to all your enthusiasm for mentoring has been very uplifting after such a low response before.Donna Curling - AAT Tutor
