Almost there, i finished college last July without passing Financial performance and Business Tax. I keep meaning to revise these subjects and resit them but i knew because of the changes with the Tax unit i would need to do that one as soon as possible but to be honest these are my nightmare units. I know i have to do FP no matter what but i wondered if i am allowed to choose another unit for my option unit? As i was doing it with a college they didnt give you an option with which units we could do out of the four optional units. Now i have sat and failed business tax am i allowed to pop a different unit to sit instead? Hope that makes sense. this final year has been a real nightmare. Increase in workload at work and such a big step up in difficulty in this level as meant i am exhausted. i really want to pass this final year before summer but dont know if i can. :crying:

Hello Focus
I see no reason why you can't change your optional papers. Which paper were you considering replacing BTX with? As long as you sit and pass two alongside the compulsory papers then all should be well.
However, I would advise that you reconsider as you must have already input a considerable amount of effort into study BTX. Yes, there will be changes each time the FA changes, however I think that you could learn these easily and implement them when it comes to exam time.
Have you passed PTX? I found that these two modules were most enjoyable and beneficial should I wish to become a MIP in future.
Happy to help you with your studies should you need any additional support.
Don't give up now.

Thank you so much for your reply Jo, this time last year i thought i was going to have to resit the whole year yet somehow i managed to pass 3 units and an project before the college year ended. Business Tax was my final unit to learn and i feel like i learnt nothing at that point in the course. If i were to try and resit this i know i would have to relearn the whole unit by myself, i just think it might be easier and wiser to pick a unit (auditing) which is something i actually wanted to learn before i found out we couldnt choose.0

ok, fair enough.
Have you researched the auditing unit and read the posts on here regarding it?
My offer still stands if you decide to do BTX.
Good luck and let us know what you do!
