Hi Guys,

Those who are taking an exam in May, how is your study going? Is any one fitting in an e-assessment before then as well? And if so how is that going?

Just fancied comparing :)

I took the business tax exemption and done personal tax in November 2012 (get my results sometime next week).

I tried studying law however I found it too boring and lost interest.

I intend to do business compliance for May 2013 and really need to start revising at some point.

Then I will finish off with law and ethics in September and December this year.

I may do CTA or something like that in 2014.

    How about you?

Hey guys, I haven't done any exams yet, I will be taking the Business Tax exemption and doing Personal Tax in May, then VAT in Nov. My tutor doesn't want me to do VAT- says that very few people choose it and that it is really difficult!? I have a while to decide but I think I will still do VAT! :)

I am hopefully going to do the ethics e-assessment next month probably at the end, then fit the law in about July/August.

I got the Yellow and Orange hand books from Tolleys yesterday.. wow!! How on earth do you use them? That's going to be fun!!

Reader when you say 'start revising', does that mean you have already studied it and just have revision to do? This early on? I haven't even got half way through my BPP book...?

    Good luck everyone! :)

The pass rates for the May 2012 exams were was follows:

    Personal tax: 72%

    Business tax: 72%

    Business compliance: 92%

    Corporation tax: 87%

    IHT, Trusts and Estates: 81%

    VAT: 87%

Regarding the orange and yellow books, I never used them and never took them into the exam and I was still able to complete the personal tax exam easily (however other people love those books).

Regarding revision, I haven't already studied so I need to start learning sooner rather than later. And must not forgot to book the business compliance exam.

    Hey

I'd get the orange and yellow book - I sat business compliance in May 2012 and there was a 15 mark question on cash accounting/ flat rate scheme/ annual accounting which was just copying from the book :)
