F7

I have decided to do another paper in June instead of F8 as I have spent too much money on it and think there could be a conspiracy with this paper where home students are at a disadvantage.
I have decided to do F7 and wondered how hard this was. I struggled with DFS at AAT level as I can't get my head around consolidations and cash flows. Do these appear every exam?
I am trying to get on a course for this paper but the prices are really high so at the minute I haven't enrolled as yet,

    A conspiracy? Really?

That aside, I am doing F7 and F8 this time and have finished all my notes and am about to start on practice questions and revision. F7 is much much harder than F8 in my opinion. I enjoyed Financial Statements in AAT and found it straightforward, but F7 is most definitely a level up.

Glynis, I think that's the best idea for you to try another paper. I can assure you though it is possible for home students to pass F8 if they put the work in.

If you struggled with DFS at AAT I really don't think you should try F7 yet. As Nps says it is a level up, and I think you would find it easier to study a subject you don't struggle with so much. Yes, I believe consolidations are a large part of every exam, cash flows I think may or may not appear, it is between a cash flow question and ratio analysis, I believe.

I started ACCA with F5 and F6, which I think were a nice introduction. Did you feel more confident with either tax or costing at AAT as I thought these two modules followed on nicely.

I've not tried F7 yet but have heard others say it is pretty difficult compared to AAT.

Of the three papers I've say (F4, F5 and F8), I'd say F8 was probably the most forgiving of the three.

I can categorically say there is no conspiracy with the F8 paper and think that is the frustration talking.

You need to get on a course and get to grips with the syllabus and work on your exam style.
