Please can you help?
I've a class of entrepreneurs, and as part of the administration aspect of their course I felt that they would benefit by being able to complete simple self-assessment tax returns for the self-employed.
Does anyone have any examples or exercises that I could work through with them?
And do you mind me using them?
Thank you in advance.

    Hi Sandy,
Just wondered if there would be an example on the HMRC website?

Hopefully you can access the link (if not copy and paste) as it takes you to where you can open a blank Self Assessment form for 2011.

    Dear Guinea Pig and Chelle

Very many thanks. I sent Mike Stangrom an email at HMRC and asked for documents as links/attachments. He was tremendous. He phoned the next day AND then turned up to the class with 2012 example forms. He has been absolutely fantastic.
He retires soon, and I wish him all the very best.

I gave the class scenario info on individuals, and with the forms Mike brought, the class completed the returns.

No doubt the forms will be different in May.

    Glad you got some sorted.

I'm pretty sure they don't change, I filed one for the last tax year and have to do another soon but I haven't seen any changes as of yet.
