Hi Everyone,
I am looking for some clarity on this subject, I have a 'not for profit' motorcycle club, do they need to register with HMRC for the whole tax elements, they are very small at the moment (just £1,500.00) turnover currently & all funds are used for the benefit of the club members.
Last year the club made a whacking great loss, with the President & Secretary funding most of the activities, this year it will break even, after paying a portion of the loaned cash back.

I don't know if this helps or not, but I help run a 'not for profit' online car club. It is not registered with HMRC as it's annual turnover gets nowhere near the registration limit.
