Hi All,

Just wondering how long it took you to study for FNST & FNPF before sitting the exams?

I will study both separately but was thinking about 8 weeks for both.

8 weeks should be ok if you put the hours in. I spent 6 weeks on FNST and 4 weeks on FNPF.

You know where to come if you need any help... lots of people on the forum more than happy to help.

Good luck with PTX on Thursday.

Hi Jo

How many hours a week did you do, I have to think about resiting FNST and Budgeting, will need to start again as can't remember much about either. Also restarting project again this week and studying PTX.

I studied for approximately 2^1/2 to 3 hours each evening and all day Saturday at the library, well 10 - 4 (library opening hours) and some times I did a little on a Sunday.

How comes you have to restart project? I thought you had done that already? If you need any help with PTX let me know... it was one of my favourite modules

If I recall rightly, you are studying at a college. Do you get no support from the tutors for your resits?

Hi Jo

Afraid I had to abandn the last project as I was finding it too hard to do this and study for FNPF and credit management which I have just sat.

You are right I am studying at college but the support fro the tutors over the last 3 yrs has been attrocious, I paln to complain once I finish. I will be going it alone to do resists etc as don't think I can pull it off in 7 wks, going to concentrate on PTX and Project and then take it from there, I am determined to complete and have a very supportive new boyfriend who is helping me.

May shout if I need to as I am determined to pass PTX if I can, may run some ideas pass you on project front as well if you don't mind.

Thanks I will be in touch as this will be my 2nd one and didn't do to well on the first one.

Let me know how you find PTX as that's my last one to sit, apart from the resists (2 at mo but sure there will be more)

I really don't like any tax exams so please don't be put off by my negative comments. Good luck with you results How did you find FNPF? I am leaving this to the end.

Financial Statements was my strongest point. Took me 10 days to revise for it. Financial performance took me about 2 and a half weeks. I think both can be done within 6 weeks providing that you have adequate spare time to revise.

10 Days to revise :ohmy: out of interest do you work?
Since mid March I have worked my way through the FNST osborne book and my eagle education study folder and I feel like I am in a daze (12-16 hrs a week study)
There is soo much to it I can't remember it all.

Hi Clare,

Like I said, FNST was my strongest point. I already had an adequate knowledge of Financial Statements from my investing activities so it was just a matter of memorizing the IAS/IFRS rules.

I thought that maybe 3 weeks intense revision would be sufficient but I may have underestimated the influence of my prior knowledge on the subject.
